Cancer Support
Help and support for people affected by cancer in West Sussex
Questions about cancer
When you, a family member or someone you know is diagnosed with cancer, you may have many questions. If you live in West Sussex and need support, there are many services that can help you.
How Coachmans can help
GPs will provide information and discuss what to download from www.nhs.uk. It might be a leaflet about your specific cancer, or information about the effects of treatment. You can also do this yourself by visiting www.nhs.uk/ipg.
Your local hospital trust
A Macmillan Support Worker will assist you by providing general information and support about cancer and services, to help you to make informed choices.
The Olive Tree
Receiving a diagnosis of cancer is a difficult, stressful and emotional time for both the patient and for those around them. At The Olive Tree you can meet and speak with people who understand and can help. The Olive Tree provides a range of services to support you, from the point of diagnosis, through your treatment and beyond, in fact for as long as you need the service. The centre is open form 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 4pm on Fridays. There will be someone available during these times to provide information and chat about what The Olive Tree has to offer.
